There is a lot of work that needs to get done before we move in in the beginning of April but we are thankful that it's a lot less than we would have had if we would have stuck with the gutted house in Towson.
I spent all of Monday evening at the house cleaning various things. It was pretty clean already but I wanted to know that it was clean and the only way to really know was to go over everything on my own. I also got to shovel the snow on our driveway all by myself!! Zach had to plow snow all day and night so i got to take care of our yard! I left the house Monday night planning on coming back last night to bring in some plywood and other items to start working on the house.
So. we went to check up on our house last night and to show Andi and Shawn and were caught off guard without electricity!! They said at closing that it would be transfered to our name but they forgot tomention that we should call BGE too to make sure they transfer it without turning it off. The house was pretty cold but thankfully shawn had a couple of flashlights so we were still able to give Andi and Shawn a flashlight tour!
Ok so here's a list of the things we are going to do before we move in.
We're going to paint all of the rooms on the first floor. Not sure on what color to do in the office but we're planning on a darker green with white trim in the bedroom, yellow/off white in the living room. We're not sure whether to paint the living room the same color as the kitchen since we plan on opening up the wall between the two. The kitchen is going to have yellow walls and green cabinets. I'm not sure of the exact colors yet. So i'm still looking at shades but i've found some ideas that i really like. The bathroom is definatley 50's style( like the rest of the house!) but it's in pretty good condition so I dont think we're going to touch it until later. Maybe next year.
There is beautiful hard wood under the dirty old carpet so after we paint we're going to pull up the carpet!! Oh and the bedroom and office each have a closet on the same wall but different sides so we're thinking on closing off the closet from the office and opening up the wall in the bedroom so we can have one big closet. We're very tight on closet space and I have no idea where we are going to put all of Zach's clothes. I might have to convince him to give some away!!
Zach and his dad are going to tear down the kitchen wall on Saturday and probably take down the cabinets and tile so that it's ready to paint. I'll probably paint the cabinets while they work on the walls. Then another day we will paint and tear up the carpet. We'll probably have to repave the driveway or something because it's pretty messed up. And then we'll be done.. or atleast ready to move in. Lots of work. But i'm very thankful that we dont have to build the whole inside of the house like we were planning with the lennox avenue house!

Where is the house exactly?
Wow- lots of work, but good to have a plan! We have worked on our house for the past 3 years and have gotten it pretty much finished how we are going to keep it. Yours will be finished much faster with all that help! It is cool to see how God worked it all out with the other house and this one- He is interested in the detail! He is so good!
Love it!! What a great house and backyard! And that is such an amazing story of how it came to be yours! Thanks for sharing!
